For my 28th birthday Ryan bought me a great camera...my first DSLR...a Nikon D60. My hope and goal was to learn to take pictures manually. We even purchased a second lens with the camera...it can only be used manually. Well, a year later I am finally taking the plunge! Thanks to Pinterest I am following a blog with a fantastic series (you can find it here) that explains how to go from automatic mode to manual mode with your camera. The following pictures are more for my own documentation....I took these with the camera in manual mode, and most of them were taken with my manual lens! They are not the best quality, but I did it! The first 3 were with my camera on manual and my automatic lens.
Overexposed
The rest of these were taken manually with my manual lens. The girls made it quite a challenge because I have to focus the lens manually and they are so fast! So, some are a bit blurry and several are overexposed. But, I'm learning my camera and I'm getting more comfortable and confident!
Looking into the sun was NOT a good idea.....we moved elsewhere quickly!
Silly faces!
They had a blast with this blanket and made up several crazy/silly games.
Silly face (an attempt to get them to hold still!)
I'm loving this! Can't wait to practice some more!

awesome beth! Isn't taking pictures of little kids super hard? they are always moving, and don't they know that good pictures require them to stand still:) hahah jk! Check out www.clickitupanotch.com she has some great tips and tutorials on all things manual! Love her and she professes to be a Christian, which is encouraging of course! Keep at it! Can't wait to see more lovely pictures! hugs!
